Colgate turns toothpaste foam into vampire fangs for Halloween

With the average child reportedly consuming 144 teaspoons of sugar at Halloween, Colgate has turned toothpaste foam into vampire fangs to remind families that brushing should be part of the night’s routine.

Created by VML, the campaign features close-ups of children whose toothpaste froth forms Halloween looks. One sports a pair of dripping white fangs, while another has a sinister Joker grin stretching across her cheeks.

Each ad carries the line: “Don’t let treats become tricks this Halloween,” alongside a tube of Colgate’s Little Smiles toothpaste.

The idea takes a familiar parental struggle, getting children to brush their teeth after a night collecting sweets, and makes it part of the Halloween fun.

The costume comes off, but there’s still time for one last scary face in the bathroom mirror.

It gives Colgate a straightforward role in an occasion dominated by confectionery, with the product itself providing the visual joke.

The brand previously celebrated unconventional grins in its Free Your Smile campaign. This time, it’s giving children a reason to show off their toothpaste-covered teeth.
