McDonald’s celebrates the takeaway that never makes it home intact
McDonald’s is celebrating the struggle to get a takeaway home without eating it first, in a campaign about customers who simply can’t wait to tuck in.
Created by Oniria/TBWA and produced by Barraco Films, the work follows hungry fans putting their first bite ahead of whatever else they’re trying to do.
At the drive-thru, on the walk to the car and in the lift, the journey from restaurant to dinner table becomes a test of willpower.
Eating on the move makes life a little more awkward, but waiting is apparently out of the question.
It’s a familiar habit that gives the brand a simple way to talk about cravings: show how people behave when there’s a McDonald’s order within reach.
You bought a takeaway to eat at home. You just didn’t say all of it would get there.

The campaign will run across digital platforms, social media and print, using films and still images.
McDonald’s has also been finding comedy in messy eating habits with its recent Halloween face paint collection, inspired by its dipping sauces.
