A gold statue of shamed producer Harvey Weinstein has been placed outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles ahead of the Academy Awards.
The disturbing creation features a leering Weinstein resting on the casting couch, wearing a satin bathrobe and slippers and holding his hand above his groin.
The life-sized sculpture, displayed by activists on Hollywood Boulevard, aims to spotlight the entertainment industry’s sexual misconduct crisis and the disgraced studio mogul’s role in it.
British-born street artist Plastic Jesus told the Telegraph “A year ago, people would have looked at that in awe, and thought it was a symbol of greatness. Now people are sitting on the couch and taking selfies, recoiling in horror at how grotesque it is. I think it also says something about Hollywood. Most come here chasing a dream, and would have loved to get alongside him. But now they realise it’s just gross.”

Plastic Jesus says the statute took 2 months to create and was paid for by donations.
