Burger King puts marathon runners on ice in giant cups
Burger King gave Dublin Marathon runners a supersized way to cool down after the race: cold plunge tubs shaped like giant takeaway drinks cups.
Created with BBH Dublin, the activation saw runners take a dip beneath the line “A Whopper of a Finish”, turning a post-race soak into the campaign’s standout image.

The brand partnered with Saunos Dublin to offer runners and a guest a complimentary 45-minute sauna and cold plunge experience.
Finishers could also claim a free Whopper at participating restaurants.

Along the course, outdoor and digital signs offered encouragement with a Burger King twist. “Eyes on the fries” reminded runners of the meal waiting beyond the finish line.

The work builds on the brand’s London Marathon campaign, adding a playful physical experience to its post-race food offer.

Katie Evans, Burger King’s CMO, said: “Marathons are an incredible show of determination and community.”
Marcos Gemal, ECD of BBH Dublin, added: “We loved taking the familiar language of marathon support signs and giving them a distinctly Burger King twist.”
