Charlize Theron scales Times Square for Netflix

By on Saturday, April 25, 2026

Charlize Theron turned Times Square into a live-action teaser this week, climbing a billboard to announce that APEX is now streaming on Netflix.

The stunt put the Oscar-winning actor at the centre of a high-visibility launch moment, using one of New York’s busiest media spaces as both stage and message.

Rather than relying on a conventional outdoor takeover, Netflix gave the campaign a physical twist, with Theron’s appearance creating a piece of street theatre designed to travel far beyond the square itself.

The idea is neatly matched to the film’s promise of tension and spectacle.

In the film a grieving woman pushing her limits on a solo adventure in the Australian wild is ensnared in a twisted game with a cunning killer.
