To mark the launch of its new £29.99 Inflatable Ice Bath dropping in stores on Sunday 25th May, Aldi has stunned Londoners with a perfectly timed heatwave stunt.

A commuter was spotted in full swim gear in an ice bath at a city bus stop, sparking a viral storm across social media and proving, once again, that the supermarket knows how to make a splash with its Specialbuys.
Complete with goggles and a blue swim cap, the Londoner was spotted casually taking a curb-side dip before heading off to work — and naturally, social media users were frozen in disbelief.
One X user declared we’ve officially “hit peak London,” while another quipped: “When gym is life but you’ve got a 9AM meeting.”
The tongue-in-cheek moment has gone viral just as UK searches for “ice bath recovery” and “ice baths near me” surge by 480%, making Aldi’s latest launch timelier than ever.
Made with Tritech puncture-resistant material and ready to fill in just 20 minutes, the single-person bath includes a rope fastener and cover — ideal for at home recovery, garden dips or, apparently, bus stop cooldowns.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “Whether you’re looking to join the trend or just cool off on your commute, Aldi has you covered!”
One thing’s for sure — Aldi didn’t just break the ice… they turned the bus stop into the coolest seat in town.
