IKEA Australia is getting blocky in the best way possible. To celebrate the upcoming release of Minecraft: The Movie, the Swedish furniture giant has given some of its most iconic pieces a nostalgic, pixelated makeover inspired by the game’s unmistakable aesthetic.
In a nod to Minecraft’s low-res style, IKEA has reimagined fan-favourite designs including the KALLAX shelving unit, the STRANDMON armchair, and the MALM chest of drawers into chunky, pixel versions that look like they’ve been pulled straight out of the game.
The campaign doesn’t stop at visuals. Even the product pricing has been altered to match Minecraft’s simplified style, complete with blocky fonts – bridging the world of home design with one of the most iconic video games of our time.
