By on Wednesday, September 4, 2019

Age UK is working with Cadbury over the next year to bring the plight of lonely older people to the attention of the nation and do something about it.

There’s a crisis in the UK. 1.4 million older people struggle with loneliness.

225,000 older people often go a whole week without speaking to anyone.

To highlight the issue Cadbury has removed the words from a limited edition Dairy Milk bar  – and 30p from each will be donated to Age UK.

Bars are already on sale in supermarkets and shops.

A hard-hitting video tells the stories of several lonely seniors.
