Desperados turns frozen beer into festival jacket air-con
Desperados has teamed up with designer Paolina Russo to create the Freeze-Fit, a limited-edition festival jacket powered by frozen beer.
The wearable brand campaign combines thermochromic fabric, hidden fans and an integrated cooling system with Desperados Freeze, the beer brand’s new frozen slush serve.

The idea tackles a small but familiar piece of festival behaviour: deciding whether to bring a jacket when the forecast cannot make up its mind.
Festival-goers insert a frozen Desperados into a pouch inside the jacket, which sends chilled liquid through an insulated tube system. Two concealed fans increase airflow, while a straw built into the collar lets wearers drink hands-free.

The result sits somewhere between fashion collaboration, product demo and experiential marketing, turning the drink itself into part of the garment’s functionality.
Creative PR agency The Romans developed the Freeze-Fit and is leading the global earned-first campaign, with Billion Dollar Boy supporting creator-led social activity.
Consumers will be able to try the jacket at elrow festivals across Europe, with further pieces given away through Desperados’ social channels.
It also continues the brand’s habit of treating the product as creative material. Famous Campaigns previously covered how Desperados bottled Christmas into beer, while its long-running relationship with festival culture included a 42m underwater rave with elrow.
Ligia Patrocinio, Global Head of Desperados, said: “Every festival starts with the same question: do I bring a jacket or not? We loved the idea of taking that familiar dilemma and solving it in a completely unexpected Desperados way.”
The campaign marks the start of a renewed culture-first approach for Desperados, with The Romans extending its work across HEINEKEN into a global retainer for the brand.
