On the Beach introduces ‘Beckham clause’ for holidays hit by family feuds

By on Tuesday, January 20, 2026

On the Beach has launched a tongue-in-cheek yet practical perk aimed at keeping family holidays on track – even if tempers fray before take-off.

The brand today announced a refund policy ‘for when the family chat goes nuclear’ on their Instagram.

Inspired by the very public Beckham family fallout, the travel brand’s new ‘Family Fallout Refund’ – dubbed the ‘Beckham clause’ – allows groups to claim a refund on one person’s share of the hotel if they back out due to a domestic drama.

As long as the drama unfolds at least 60 days before departure, the rest of the party won’t be left footing the bill.

“The Beckham clause is there for those moments when someone decides they’d rather cool off at home than by the pool,” said Zoe Harris, Chief Customer Officer at On the Beach.

The clause applies to all new and existing bookings departing by 31 August 2026. Family holiday meltdowns, it seems, have finally met their match.
