Liverpool’s sponsor pranks players with fake advert shoot and its comedy gold.

By on Wednesday, May 25, 2022

Earlier today, Liverpool posted a video in association with shirt sponsor AXA  – and its comedy gold.

Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined several actors and Liverpudlian comedian Adam Rowe to convince his teammates, Harvey Elliott and Divock Origi, that they were recording a new advert for their complicit sponsors, AXA.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is in on the joke, as is a ‘competition winner’ who is asked to drive the imaginary car – however, Elliott and Origi believe it’s all real.

After five minutes of humiliating scenes – Origi ends up losing his cool as he snaps at the stooge director, only to realise he’d been pranked.
