Tony Robinson makes commuting bearable
By Jonathan O'Connor on Friday, May 18, 2012
In a good piece of comedy PR by TV chanel Gold, actor and celebrity archaelogist, Tony Robinson has teamed up with Chiltern Railways to train railway staff to deliver comedy announcements.
He worked with Richard Preddy, a scriptwriter for Green Wing. Richard Preddy wrote the lines while Robinson trained the staff to help them learn the lines.
It generated huge coverage appearing in the Evening Standard, Brand Republic, ITV.com and the Daily Express.
Examples of announcements include:
“Will any passengers listening to noisy iPods please get better taste in music. Thank You.”
“For any passengers who’ve not visited London before, do please prepare yourself for the capitals overwhelmingly calm and relaxing pace of life.”
