Switzerland Tourism creates miniature hotels for bees

Switzerland Tourism have put a luxury spin on conservation, opening nine designer insect hotels, birdhouses and hedgehog shelters across the country.
Each miniature stay is modelled after one of Switzerland Tourism’s partner hotels and was designed via a national architecture competition.
James Faulkner, the Game of Thrones actor is the voice behind a lush, Attenborough-style doc for Switzerland Tourism’s latest international campaign, Bees and Friends.
The goal?
Showcase the diversity of Swiss hospitality while giving biodiversity a stylish boost.
There’s the Tiny Dolder Grand in Zurich, a hedgehog and bird duplex with spa vibes and the BEE Rivage in Lausanne, where bees can check into suites inspired by the seasons.
Agency leads Stefanie Huber and Peter Brönnimann helped bring the idea to life, creating a 360° campaign that spans film, digital and real-world installations.
André Hefti, CMO of Switzerland Tourism, said the idea was to show that “Switzerland really does have something to offer every kind of guest.”
Mathias Götti-Limacher from beekeeping association Bienen Schweiz called the project “a chance for our tiniest guests to unwind in style after a job well done.”
