The Brick-fast Club – Chris Pratt to Serve Coffee at LEGO Pop-up
By Leigh Debbage on Tuesday, January 29, 2019
Stars of new big-screen animated adventure THE LEGO® MOVIE 2 will open a unique LEGO Cafe on Friday 1st February, as a pop-up hopes to show London that, actually, Everything is Awesome.
THE COFFEE CHAIN, inspired by the cafe featured in THE LEGO® MOVIE films, will be opened by voice cast Chris Pratt (Emmet) and Tiffany Haddish (Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi) at Observation Point on London’s South Bank at 9am on Friday ahead of the release of the highly anticipated sequel on Friday 8th February.
The Hollywood stars will serve Londoners the first beverages, giving those lucky enough to find their way to the front of the queue the chance to meet some of the film’s main cast.
Opening at 9am, THE COFFEE CHAIN will be a visual feast of colour and imagination, brought to life with no fewer than 48,627 LEGO® bricks by six builders and taking 236 hours to complete. It will include a LEGO® coffee machine, donuts, your morning paper and more. The pop-up will serve free winter warming drinks and water, and spread LEGO awesomeness with costume characters and spot prizes.
THE COFFEE CHAIN will also help raise awareness and proceeds for UNICEF UK to help children around the world to be able to play and use their imagination to do extraordinary things.
Visitors will be encouraged to donate a small sum to support UNICEF UK’s vital work for children – providing clean water, lifesaving food, vaccines and a safe space to grow up happy and healthy.
Those not able to make it down to South Bank could also have awesomeness delivered right to their offices or homes. Anyone using the hashtag #EverythingIsAwesome and sharing positive, awesome thoughts or pictures can earn ‘Awesome Deliveries’ of LEGO donuts and coffee which will be delivered around London.
Fans can check for updates and the chance to meet the stars by going to the @TheLEGOMoviesUK twitter page.
THE COFFEE CHAIN will be open for two days from 1st February at Observation Point, South Bank, 58–72 Upper Ground, London, SE1 9LT.
