Pokémon turns its Poké Ball into a bookable sleep pod

Pokémon Sleep has teamed up with Japanese hospitality brand Not A Hotel to turn one of gaming’s most recognisable objects into a human-sized sleeping pod, with a giant Poké Ball set to land in Hokkaido, Japan, this September.

In the fictional world, Poké Balls are places for Pokémon to rest.

Here, the pocket-sized object has been scaled into inhabitable architecture, giving fans the chance to do the sleeping themselves.

It’s physical extension of Pokémon Sleep, the mobile game built around tracking and rewarding better sleeping habits.

The full interior remains under wraps until September 15, with only the spherical red-and-white exterior revealed so far.

Access will be offered through a limited campaign, with selected participants invited to spend the night inside.
