Oatly opens bike-thru cafe in Amsterdam

By on Monday, May 25, 2026

Oatly has opened what it calls the world’s first Bike Thru in Amsterdam, a drive-thru format redesigned entirely around cyclists.

Running until 7 June 2026 at Papaverhoek 24, the pop-up lets riders pedal through a dedicated lane, collect an Oatly signature drink and continue into the city without dismounting.

The drinks menu rotates across the run and includes miso caramel, tiramisu, woodruff cold foam, hojicha soft serve and a deliberately unnamed Mystery Drink.

ClassPass members can use credits throughout the full 3.5-week run and receive 35% off.

The concept was developed with Amsterdam’s existing cycling culture at its centre rather than against it.

Christiaan van Doornik, Oatly’s Benelux GM, said the goal was to make sustainable choices feel native to how people already move through the city, not to shift behaviour.

“The point was to make sustainable choices feel natural,” van Doornik said.
