Joe Wicks opens the first-ever roller disco supermarket

By on Monday, February 10, 2025

Joe Wicks has taken grocery shopping to the next level by hosting the world’s first supermarket-themed roller disco!

This quirky event took over Margate’s Dreamland roller rink, transforming it into an Asda supermarket draped in retro vibes. Asda’s iconic Rollback initiative is back, so why not celebrate with some skates?

On February 7 and 8, skaters had the chance to experience a Supermarket Sweep-style challenge! For 45 minutes, participants rolled through aisles, armed with a shopping list, a basket, and a hunger for bargains. Those agile enough to grab everything on their list snatched hundreds of pounds in vouchers, with some nabbing spot prizes up to £50!

The event backs Asda’s mission to make over 4,000 popular items more affordable.

“I’m so excited to don a pair of skates and take to the rink to celebrate the return of Rollback. Supporting families to be able to access and cook low-cost, simple meals is hugely important to me and Rollback facilitates exactly that. I’m looking forward to helping people discover the fab product offers and also provide some recipe inspiration to help turn the amazing deals into dishes.”

Asda, wanna open one full-time? We’d be down!
