Channing Tatum brings Wrexham AFC to the Super Bowl

Wrexham AFC’s Hollywood-backed rise continues – this time on the Super Bowl stage.

Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney teamed up with STōK Cold Brew Coffee to introduce their team to the U.S. in a new ad starring Channing Tatum.

The ad sees Tatum stepping in as Wrexham’s dance coach after Reynolds and McElhenney expressed disappointment in their goal celebrations.

Armed with a boombox and a bottle of STōK, he unleashes a dance tutorial set to C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat.”

Wrexham players including Ollie Palmer, Paul Mullin, and Jacob Mendy watch in stunned silence before joining in.

Things escalate until Tatum panics: “No, I promised Ryan and Rob I would keep it classy. Everyone put your clothes back on!”

Tatum called it a fun challenge, saying, “None of us would have brought the moves without STōK Cold Brew.”

STōK Cold Brew Coffee is the official stadium sponsor for Wrexham, which is co-owned by actor and producer Rob McElhenney and “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds.

In a press release, Tatum explained why he wanted to star in the ad that was created by Reynolds’ production company, Maximum Effort.

“When Rob and Ryan asked me to help their team master the art of the celebration dance, I knew I had to accept the challenge. It was fun showing the lads how it’s done just in time for the biggest American football celebration, and none of us would have been able to bring the moves and energy without some help from STōK Cold Brew Coffee.”

Wrexham’s journey from fifth-tier football to global stardom keeps getting bigger and more entertaining.

The 2025 Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, Feb 9
