Audible brings calm to King’s Cross with “Zen Commute” activation
By James Herring on Tuesday, January 21, 2025
Audible is bringing a touch of calm to one of the most fraught weeks of the year with a new brand activation at King’s Cross station.
Timed to coincide with Blue Monday, labelled as the “most depressing day of the year,” the activation transforms a tube carriage into a peaceful, immersive experience.
The activation, created by Hyperactive, supports Audible’s latest campaign promoting its well-being content.
At the centre of the experience is a train carriage reimagined with blooming cherry blossoms spilling out of its windows and doors, inviting commuters to step inside and escape the usual rush-hour bustle.
Inside the carriage, visitors are treated to a calming audio experience including excerpts from well-being titles such as Atomic Habits, A Quiet Life in Seven Steps, and The Healing Power of Nature.
A nearby screen displays Audible’s Zen Commute film, which launched earlier this month, along with information about the audio content being played.
Brand ambassadors are on hand to encourage passersby to explore Audible’s library and discover ways to make their commutes more mindful.
The activation launched on Monday, January 20, and will run for five days.
Albert Hogan, Senior Director – Brand and Content Marketing Europe, said: “Blue Monday may be known as the gloomiest day of the year but we saw an opportunity to flip that narrative. This cherry blossom train, brought to life so brilliantly by our partners at Hyperactive, is more than just a visual spectacle – it’s an invitation for commuters to pause and explore the transformative power of audio. Audible’s well-being catalogue is designed to bring balance and inspiration to everyday moments and we hope this activation sparks a journey towards more mindful commutes and meaningful listening.”
