Paddy Power set up ‘bagpipe-friendly zone’ in protest against RWC stadium ban

Paddy Power has declared its Southgate Street shop in Gloucester a ‘bagpipe friendly zone’ ahead of Scotland’s Rugby World Cup opener against Japan at Kingsholm today.
The move comes after World Cup chiefs banned the popular Scottish musical instrument from all stadiums throughout the tournament. I spoke to a Scottish man yesterday in the city centre and when I broke news of the ban, well, let’s just say the conversation turned as blue as his face was red.
Thousands of Scots have descended on Gloucester for today’s game, and a queue of defiant tartan-laden fans were snapped outside Paddy Power, keen to voice just how unhappy they were with the ban.
