NASA Releases ‘All About That Space’ Parody Video

By on Tuesday, December 16, 2014

NASA have released their very own music video parodying Meghan  Trainor’s hit single ‘All About That Bass’. Interns at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre produced the spoof to raise awareness of the Orion spacecraft’s maiden voyage earlier in December. It manages to avoid the perils of all amateur parody videos and is not completely cringeworthy.

The lyrics actually work quite well.

I’m all about that space
‘Bout that space, space travel.
I’m all about that space
‘Bout that space

Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t commercial crew
But I can launch it, launch it
Like I’m supposed to do
‘Cause I got that boom boom that all the Astros chase
And all the space flight to all the right places

Overall, it is a nice human touch for the organisation that has attracted attention online and been viewed over a million times. It offers some cool shots at fancy equipment and has excited many people at the possibilities of space travel further than people have been before, at a time when NASA has fallen off the public radar.
