The holiday hotspot of Magaluf has opened the doors on the world’s first ‘Twitter Hotel’ – @SolWaveHouse.
Billed as a mecca for tweeple from all over the world over, the digital hideaway features a range of ‘twitter-themed rooms’ adorned in the iconic blue and white, offering social savvy holidaymakers check ins, room service and special offers via hash-tags, including #FillMyFridge for a swift replenishment of the mini-bar.
After being greeted by an online concierge, and once settled into one of the 184 rooms, customers are given access to an exclusive twitter app, via the hotel WiFi. From here, guests are encouraged to interact, flirt and get to know their fellow guests using #SocialWave or order drinks and food straight to the pool by tweeting @SolWaveHouse.
Alongside many of the more traditional analogue activities, like wave pools, sunbeds, restaurants and sporting facilities on the beach, every Friday the #TwitterPoolParty giving the more prolific of the island’s twitterati free drinks.
Will it be a success, or will the fail wale wash up on the beach? Only time will tell.
