Tesco’s strawberries and cream van rolls into Wimbledon
Tesco is handing out thousands of free bowls of strawberries and cream in Wimbledon after transforming an ice cream van into a bespoke Strawberries and Cream Van for tennis fans.
As the championships draw crowds to south-west London and summer temperatures rise, the retailer is bringing one of the season’s most familiar traditions directly to spectators and passers-by.
The activation will see complimentary portions served from the van from 11am on both event days, while stocks last.

Located near Wimbledon station, the Strawberries and Cream Van offers visitors a chance to enjoy the classic pairing while soaking up the atmosphere surrounding the tournament.

The giveaway is part of Tesco’s ongoing ‘Need Anything From Tesco?’ campaign, which highlights how the supermarket supports customers in moments that matter, from everyday shopping needs to spontaneous seasonal treats.

Tesco expects demand for strawberries to peak during the championships, forecasting sales of more than four million punnets this week alone.
Callum Baker, Buying Manager of Berries at Tesco, said: “We’re expecting to sell over four million punnets just this week alone; that’s over 1,500 tonnes of strawberries. Strawberries and cream are such an ace doubles pairing, so we’re excited to be able to share that tradition with tennis fans, completely for free.”
