Cadbury’s ‘Homesick’ spot hits home with a bite-sized act of love

Cadbury Dairy Milk has launched ‘Homesick’ – a tender new film by VCCP that captures the imperfect charm of generosity through a quietly powerful sibling moment.
Set in Kuala Lumpur, the ad follows an older sister far from home who receives a care package containing a Dairy Milk bar from her younger sibling.
But in classic sisterly fashion, a chunk is missing.
A small alien sticker holds the wrapper together – a cheeky, unmistakable signature of childhood mischief.
‘Homesick’ is the latest in Cadbury’s long-running ‘There’s a Glass & a Half in Everyone’ platform, a campaign recognised for its emotional depth and awarded the IPA Effectiveness Grand Prix.
Directed by Steve Rogers through Biscuit and Girl&Bear, the spot stays true to the brand’s focus on everyday humanity over spectacle.
Created by Emma Jackson and Aly Lane, the work underscores Cadbury’s mission to reflect how small, authentic gestures can cut through rising loneliness and help people feel seen.
As UK Senior Marketing Director Elise Burditt puts it: “Even a bar of Dairy Milk with a chunk missing can carry the warmth of home.”
