Dior gives The Very Hungry Caterpillar a couture makeover
Dior has turned Eric Carle’s beloved children’s classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar into a 23-piece luxury capsule collection, bringing one of publishing’s most recognisable characters into the world of high fashion.

Created under the direction of Jonathan Anderson, the collection applies Carle’s distinctive illustrations to a range of garments, accessories and lifestyle pieces.

The capsule includes Dior Book Totes in medium and mini formats, knitwear, T-shirts, slippers and a cream-coloured blanket, all featuring the famous green caterpillar.

The collection has already generated significant online conversation. Interest intensified after actor Macaulay Culkin appeared at Paris Fashion Week wearing the now widely shared caterpillar sweater.

The launch also reflects a more playful direction for the French fashion house, which has recently embraced pop-inspired and whimsical imagery.
