Aldi parade topiary caterpillar at Chelsea Flower Show
Aldi has sent its giant topiary Cuthbert to the gates of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, arriving in a flower crown and yellow wellies.

The 8ft tall, 12ft long topiary — a sculpted homage to the supermarket’s bestselling Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake — appeared outside the prestigious London show on the banks of the Thames.
A fresh prune and a crown made from Aldi’s Specially Selected Luxury Bouquets completed the seasonal makeover.

The stunt lands as Chelsea judges encouraged exhibitors to embrace caterpillars and biodiversity, with show gardens this year described as a “riot of colours.”

Aldi timed the activation to coincide with the launch of its Specially Selected Chelsea Flower Bouquet (£12.99, in stores 28 May) with free bunches handed to passers-by on the day.
“When we heard that caterpillars were welcome at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, we knew Cuthbert had to be there,” said Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK.
The stunt was executed by Taylor Herring.
