Chupa Chups celebrates new wrapper with Lucha Libre twist

By on Sunday, April 5, 2026

Chupa Chups is marking the arrival of its new easy-to-open wrapper with an out-of-home campaign inspired by the drama of Lucha Libre.

Created by BBH London to celebrate the end of the finger-straining battle many fans know too well, the work features a series of striking masks rolling out across the UK and Spain.

Each one draws on the distinctive look of a Chupa Chups favourite, with Apple, Strawberry and Cola translated into colourful designs that feel playful, graphic and instantly recognisable.

The campaign taps into the theatre of wrestling to give a light-hearted twist to a very everyday product update.

Instead of focusing on functionality alone, it turns the wrapper redesign into something more visual and memorable, using the exaggerated energy of Lucha Libre to land the message.

The masks were developed in collaboration with Mexican mask maker Arturo Bucio, whose work has been worn by some of the sport’s most celebrated names, including Rey Mysterio, Mil Máscaras, Dos Caras and Místico.
