Snow joke: Dutch campaign sculpts a witty reminder for men’s health

The Testicular Cancer Foundation and Ogilvy Amsterdam are raising awareness with a cheeky campaign urging men to check their testicles.

The headline images are hard to ignore: three men lovingly crafting an enormous snow penis, accompanied by the provocative line, “Give the same love to your own balls.”

It’s a knob gag with a serious message if you’ve got time to shape snow genitals, you’ve got time to check yourself for early signs of testicular cancer.

The campaign, aimed at breaking down stigma and encouraging early detection, uses humour to cut through the awkwardness that still surrounds the topic.

The call to action is simple: visit checkyourballs.nl for self-exam guidance.

‘If you’ve got time to build a snow penis , you’ve got time to check your own’ reads the caption on the agency’s Instagram.

“Humour helps to discuss a sensitive topic,” says the Testicular Cancer Foundation’s director, Ivo Struik. “By encouraging men with a smile to check their balls, we hope that the message stands out and that they actually proceed to self-examination. Because the earlier you catch it, the greater the chance of recovery.”

Bold, witty and entirely on point, this is public health advertising with balls.
