Heinz reinvents the fry box with ketchup-friendly design

After more than 75 years of unchanged design, the humble fry box has finally received an upgrade – thanks to Heinz and Rethink.

Launching today in 11 countries, The Heinz Dipper reimagines the iconic red-and-yellow fry container with a built-in pouch for sauce, solving a decades-old dilemma: where to put the ketchup.

For anyone who’s ever dunked fries into a flimsy napkin puddle this will resonate.

The Dipper adapts the Heinz Keystone label into a functioning pocket, providing a designated space for ketchup, mayo, or whatever your dipping preference may be.

“It’s one of those ‘why didn’t this exist already?’ ideas,” said the team at Rethink, who led creative on the global rollout.

With its simple yet practical innovation, the Dipper not only makes messy snacking more manageable but also turns packaging into a playful piece of brand storytelling.

Yes, it’s real. And yes, you can get your hands on one – if you’re lucky enough to be in one of the 11 participating markets.

“After spotlighting the uncanny resemblance between fry boxes and our iconic HEINZ Keystone globally, we wanted to take the next bold step: redesigning the age-old fry box to work even harder for our HEINZ lovers everywhere,” says Nina Patel, Vice President, Global Heinz Brand at the Kraft Heinz Company.
