Switzerland Tourism’s new campaign sees electronic artist Thylacine sample 200+ ‘Swiss Sounds’ into an immersive music track.
Trains, cable cars, cheese and glaciers become instruments in a journey that celebrates the country’s breathtaking landscapes.
Switzerland Tourism and Travel Switzerland partnered with French electronic artist Thylacine for a cinematic and sonic journey across the country — transforming transport sounds into an original composition that celebrates seamless, sustainable travel.
Over 16 days, Thylacine (real name William Rezé) captured around 200 unique sounds while journeying by train, bus, boat, and cable car.
From station ambience to mechanical rhythms, every layer fed into a single immersive track that becomes the heartbeat of this new campaign.
Known for creating albums on the move — from the Trans-Siberian Railway to South America — Thylacine blends field recordings with electronic textures to create music that feels both rooted and nomadic.

Shot and directed by Thylacine and Cécile Chabert, with drone visuals and editing also handled by the duo, the film showcases Switzerland’s interconnected infrastructure and rich diversity of landscapes.
“I recorded and filmed for 16 days across Switzerland, on board 23 trains, 3 cable cars, 2 boats and 1 bus. I ended up collecting around 200 different sounds, with the aim of creating a unique piece of music from them. Thank you for opening the doors of your beautiful country to me,” Thylacine on Instagram.
Behind the scenes…
