Apple will project your Christmas tree art on Battersea Power Station

Apple is inviting the UK public to design Christmas trees on iPad for a shot at seeing their work projected onto Battersea Power Station this December.

The new campaign, Your Tree on Battersea, is hosted by comedian Munya Chawawa and marks the first time Apple has opened up its Battersea façade to public submissions.

Participants can submit digital tree designs from now until 23 November, using a template provided by Apple.

A total of 24 public entries will be selected by an independent panel and showcased on the building’s river-facing chimneys and wash towers starting 4 December.

They’ll appear alongside 12 commissioned works from artists and cultural figures including David Shrigley OBE and Sir Stephen Fry, plus one tree by Chawawa himself.

It’s a festive brand move that combines user-generated content, physical retail, and one of London’s most recognisable landmarks—home, not coincidentally, to Apple’s UK headquarters.

In 2023 David Hockney, unveiled his a new work Bigger Christmas Trees at the power station.

Drawn on an iPad Pro using Apple Pencil, Hockney’s stunning 10-minute animation transformed the iconic 100-metre-high chimneys that overlook the Thames.
