Domino’s trial robot dog for pizza deliveries

By on Monday, July 21, 2025

Domino’s is taking its beach delivery game up a notch with ‘Domidog’ (no it’s not a sex thing) — a robot dog designed to keep punters pizza safe from greedy seagulls.

The four-legged machine is hitting British seaside hotspots this summer in a trial aimed at solving one of the UK’s most annoying coastal problems.

Powered by Boston Dynamics hardware, the bot will navigate sand and crowds using stereo cameras and a suite of sensors, on a pizza protection mission.

It’s silly season meets sci-fi, and yes, your slice is finally safe.

According to Domino’s, gulls were ranked among the top 10 seaside irritants by Brits, beaten only by grim toilets and overcrowding.

“Seagulls have claimed too many seaside snacks,” says Izzy Gardener from Domino’s. “We’re always exploring new and innovative ways to keep your pizza as hot and fresh as possible. That’s why we’re trialling Domidog this summer: a tech-driven answer to an age-old beach problem.”

In a world of rapid technological advances we can rest easy knowing that future generations will have their beach snacks protected with military-grade robotics.
