Leeds United take on F1 car in Red Bull’s latest high-speed stunt

By on Wednesday, June 18, 2025

In a spectacle that merged motorsport with Premier League fitness, Red Bull just pitted three of Leeds United’s fastest against a Formula 1 car on the hallowed grass of Elland Road.

Willy Gnonto, Largie Ramazani, and Isaac Schmidt took on the challenge, sprinting from one penalty box to the other and back, while F2 driver Arvid Lindblad wrestled a Red Bull RB7 across the same stretch — on wet tyres, no less.

The players cooked up the idea after hitting Red Bull’s Pole Position experience at the 2024 Silverstone Grand Prix, figuring they might have a shot if the car had to deal with a slippery football pitch and a 180-degree turn.

Off the line, the Leeds trio made the RB7 look sluggish. But once the car found its grip, it was all over — Lindblad caught up fast and his tight turn saw him beat the players to the finish by a solid 30 yards.

For Red Bull, it’s another feather in the cap of their ongoing dominance at the intersection of sport and spectacle.
