Drone Pterodactyl soars over New York

A giant pterodactyl appeared to soar over Manhattan this week but it wasn’t real, and neither were the drones it was made of.
The convincing CGI video, created to promote Jurassic World: Rebirth, shows a prehistoric creature flying between skyscrapers, seemingly formed from a swarm of coordinated drones.
The entire clip, promoted via the film’s Instagram, was digitally created – including a final resolve to the famous Jurassic Park logo – achieving 1M views on TikTok in 24hrs.
In an age where brands compete to create increasingly elaborate stunts, this one further blurs the line between reality and simulation offering a reminder (that increasingly) not everything viral needs to actually happen to get attention.
