In a unique and innovative collaboration, the world’s largest data centre company, Equinix, has teamed up with designer Maximilian Raynor to craft a striking dress using repurposed materials from their facilities.
The viral-worthy piece showcases Raynor’s bold and unconventional style – merging technology and fashion to emphasise the technicalities and physical complexities that make up the internet.
Taking an impressive 640 hours to assemble, the intricate design magnifies the thousands of connections Equinix creates to support economies and societies every day, in the form of a captivating piece of art!
Bruce Owen, Equinix’s EMEA president, states: “The design pays homage to the physicality of the vital infrastructure that makes up the Internet. Rather than some sort of weird magic or unexplainable force that just happens to work, it’s a physical, intricate network of cables, traversing land and sea and creating physical connections housed in Equinix data centres worldwide.
