David Lloyd launch waterproof workwear

Workers can now swap spreadsheets for strokes – no outfit changes required.

David Lloyd Clubs is making waves (quite literally) with its latest innovation: the “Swim Suit”.

Designed for hybrid workers who want to juggle wellness and work, the fitness club has launched a waterproof clothing collection suitable for both the office and the pool.

Made from hydrophobic, water-resistant fabric, the Swim Suit allows workers to glide effortlessly from desk to dip and back again without any faff.

The collection was created in response to member feedback and survey insights highlighting the challenges of fitting exercise into hectic schedules.

A recent survey of 2,000 Brits found that nearly half of office workers skip exercise due to work demands, spending an average of four and a half hours a week in meetings and working an average of an additional three hours beyond contracted hours.

Among those who manage to squeeze in exercise, 18% did so during their lunch break, but 40% felt guilty about exercising during work hours.

A David Lloyd’s spokesperson said: “Wellness doesn’t have to mean long stints in the gym or pool. Studies have shown that short ‘snackable’ bursts of activity as little as 10 minutes throughout the day can be incredibly effective for both our health and productivity.”

“The 20 minutes or so to get ready and showered after exercising can eat into your day. Now, you don’t even need to think about it – you can be straight out of the pool and back at your desk in a matter of seconds.”

With swimming ranking as one of the top forms of exercise among young professionals, these garments are guaranteed to make a splash.
