Tube train carriage gets PlayStation glow-up

In a move that screams “gamers, we see you!”, Sony has teamed up with Transport for London (TfL) to give a Victoria Line Tube carriage the ultimate PlayStation glow-up.

They’ve gone all in, reupholstering the seats with a PlayStation-themed moquette and taking over every ad space inside the carriage.

The revamped Tube ride launched on Monday and will be sticking around until January 7.

The centerpiece of this collaboration from adam&eveDDB is a Tube seat reskin that doubles as a playable maze, turning “mindlessly staring at the seat in front of you” into a micro-gaming moment.

According to Sony, this is all about showing “that play is everywhere.”

This is the first time in over 25 years that TfL has let a brand go wild on the Underground’s signature moquette, which is usually reserved for low-key geometric patterns aka “public transport chic.”

Emma Strain, TfL’s Customer Director says “This new partnership shows how we can work creatively with brands to brighten up our customer’s journeys.”

Back in 2020, Sony took over signs outside Oxford Circus tube by replacing those with the Circle, Square, Cross and Triangle designs to promote the launch of PS5.

So, if you’re riding the Victoria Line in the next few weeks, keep your eyes peeled for this gamer-centric setup.

Something to talk about while you’re avoiding eye contact with strangers.
