Known for their meatballs and flatpack furniture, Swedish furniture giant IKEA’s first dedicated restaurant is here, meaning London foodies can rejoice as they no longer must buy furniture to get the goods…
The permanent restaurant in Hammersmith, which seats seventy-five people serves a range of Swedish dishes from its bistro and café menus with prices starting from £3.75. This includes the brands classic meatballs with mashed potatoes and peas.
The short and sweet menu features tomato and basil pasta, fish and chips, and salmon with couscous, as well as two cooked breakfast options. A children’s tomato pasta dish is also available and comes with a soft drink and piece of fruit. Other items include IKEA’s famous hotdogs, ice-cream, and a range of desserts.
The restaurant which opened its doors last week, has had more than 1000 customers on its first day, with a further 5000+ visiting over the weekend, proving unequivocally Brits love of Swedish meatballs.
