Girl mocked on Tinder for her dress models for ASOS

In a brilliant piece of reactive PR, ASOS have taken a negative comment posted about one of their customers photos and flipped it by using her image as the centre of a unique and empowering marketing activation.
Thea Chippendale received a message from a man on Tinder who felt compelled to tell her that he didn’t like her dress, she now models that same dress of ASOS.
The 20 year old was told she looked ‘awful’ by her match on Tinder who described her outfit as a ‘charity shop job’.
Thea went viral on Twitter after sharing the messages she received from George, alongside the caption ‘Men are Trash’ .

The post received a flood of responses from supportive men and women who urged her to dump George immediately.
After 98,000 likes and 7,000 retweets, ASOS quickly responded to the viral tweet by using Thea as a model for the £75 pink dress on their website.
ASOS uploaded the snap to their Twitter page and wrote: ‘theachippendale Swipe right to see who had the last laugh’, and Twitter was thrilled with the outcome.
