20-pound spiked hot chocolate goes on sale in New York

Everything’s bigger in America! Even the hot chocolate.

The PHD Terrace in New York’s Midtown are pedalling a whopper of a winter warmer.

This supersize drink, designed to share with 20 friends, weighs in at a whopping 20 pounds, and you can choose a spirit to spike it with (Tequila, mescal, cognac or whiskey).

Time Out reports ‘Aside from the alcohol, other ingredients in the giant wintery cocktail include Valrhona’s extra bitter 61% chocolate mixed with Jivara milk 40% chocolate, topped with charred giant marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, homemade whipped cream and spicy cocoa powder.’

The behemoth was created to celebrate National Hot Chocolate Day, which falls on January 31.
