Taming Twitter by cutting through the ‘buzz’

By on Sunday, September 15, 2013

Social media tool ‘Tame’ is billed as “the first context search engine for Twitter aimed at marketing & PR professionals which cuts through the noise on Twitter to deliver brand buzz & hot topics”

Similar in many ways to the likes of Hootsuit, Tweepi and the all-powerful Manageflitter, Tame sets its self apart from the social-media crowd by providing a new level of cut-through via a rather helpful 24-hour digest – drilling down and analysing a specific feed’s hash tags. By quickly crunching the numbers, users can quickly work out the best ways to increase an audience’s reach of tweet; whilst watching the noise around competitors and distilling the all-important, and somewhat vague PR ‘buzz-word’ known as… well, “buzz”.

“Twitter is where the conversation about pretty much anything is at. For a brand or individual, ensuring they have a share of voice on social networks like twitter is paramount so it’s important their marketing or PR pros are equipped to take advantage of this. This is where we believe Tame comes in,” said Frederik Fischer, CEO and co-founder, Tame.

I must admit that when I was initially offered a free 30 day trial of the product, I was a little skeptical – however the real beauty of the product quickly revealed itself and is quite simply its ease of use. I was feeling like a master of the social media universe in under a minute – which is always a good thing when it comes to working in the dark art of publicity.

Quite simply this is a lovely little product that delivers, at a glance, exactly what it says on the tin, whilst also very quickly (and efficiently) identifying key influencers relevant to a specific brand.

Tame is currently a subscription-based service with prices starting at €5 per month (around £4.20), however is free on an analysis alone basis – don’t take my word for it, try before you buy and have a go yourself…
