Aldi goes full manc with ‘Aldeh’ rebrand ahead of Oasis homecoming

Aldi just pulled a very Manc move.

The supermarket giant has rebranded its Prestwich store to ‘Aldeh’ in a tribute to Oasis and the city’s iconic drawl – just in time for the band’s hotly anticipated homecoming gigs at Heaton Park.

Aldi’s retained creative PR agency Taylor Herring delivered the activation.

The renamed Bury New Road store is a stone’s throw from the park where the Gallagher brothers are set to reunite this July.

Now, fans have been turning up in bucket hats and tracksuits, snapping selfies under the ‘Aldeh’ sign like it’s the new Abbey Road crossing.

Shoppers are madferit

The rebrand first hit social via a delighted shopper who clocked the sign on a grocery run. “Just on my way to do my weekly shop and what do I see? Aldeh! It’s absolutely brilliant,” they posted. “Oasis are coming home and this hilarious tribute tops it off… it’s a great time to be in Manchester!”

As part of the celebrations, the supermarket has launched a new range of Aldimania Bucket Hats, which cost just £4.99.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said the change was about marking the moment: “Manchester is a vibrant city with a rich musical history, and with the Oasis reunion, we wanted to mark the occasion. By temporarily renaming our Bury New Road store to ‘Aldeh,’ we’re celebrating both the local dialect and the legendary band that has brought so much joy to fans worldwide.”
