Warburtons puts Morgan Freeman on the Tube tannoy

By on Wednesday, March 18, 2026

Warburtons is marking its 150th anniversary by transforming London Underground’s Baker Street station with a playful audio and visual takeover voiced by Morgan Freeman.

Running across March 18 and 19, the activation replaces standard platform announcements with bakery-themed lines including “mind the bap” and “stand behind the buttery yellow line”, delivered in Freeman’s unmistakable tone.

The experience builds on the brand’s recent ‘150 Years in the Baking’ campaign and brings it into a live commuter setting.

The station itself has been reimagined as ‘Bakers Street’, with signage adapted and Tube roundels redesigned as oversized crumpets

The creative nods to research showing 71 percent of Brits see crumpets as a cultural staple, while playfully referencing Freeman’s own confusion about them in the TV spot.

Devised by Joyful & Triumphant, the campaign extends across media, PR and social through Mindshare, Burson and McCann Manchester.

Jonathan Warburton said the idea was to “share a bit of fun with Londoners on their daily commute and hopefully raise a few smiles,” using humour and a recognisable voice to create a memorable brand moment in an everyday environment.

It taps into a growing wave of brands reimagining Tube stations as immersive media spaces, as experiential takeovers across the network continue to gain momentum this year.
