Samsung shines a light on life after dark with Ashley Walters
Samsung has launched a new short film starring award-winning actor Ashley Walters to showcase the night-time filming capabilities of its latest handset, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Titled ‘The Night Is Ours’, the film explores the quiet energy of Britain after sunset, following a cast of characters navigating work, creativity and connection through the late hours.
Commissioned to mark the launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the piece was shot entirely on the device and highlights its upgraded Nightography video technology.
Through a series of intimate scenes, viewers encounter a nurse heading to a night shift, a taxi driver starting work, a father rocking his newborn and couples at different stages of romance.
The narrative is anchored by an original poem performed by Walters, reflecting on night as both a moment of freedom and a time when essential work continues while the rest of the world sleeps.

Walters said: “I’ve always felt most creative at night; something about those quiet hours helps you really focus and get the ideas flowing.”
The film lands alongside research commissioned by Samsung which suggests Britain’s relationship with the night is shifting. The study found 78% of adults use late evening hours to focus without interruption, while more than a quarter say they feel more energised after dark.
