Aldi’s cult-favourite caterpillar cake Cuthbert has taken on a new form – this time as a bobsleigh – in a cheeky nod to the upcoming Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
Spotted at Team GB’s official bobsleigh training ground in Bath, the life-sized Cuthbert sleigh is part of Aldi’s playful campaign as an official partner of Team GB and Paralympics GB.

The stunt taps into new Aldi research showing that 37% of Brits are inspired to try a new sport after watching a film or TV show – with Cool Runnings, The Karate Kid and Rocky leading the list of influential titles.

The supermarket is embracing the public’s appetite for fun and fandom around major sporting events, with 55% saying they’d like to see more playful bobsleigh designs.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “Like all this year’s hopefuls, Cuthbert had a sporting dream, and we’ve made it a reality by letting him loose on Team GB’s training track.”
The Jamaican bobsleigh team – made famous by Cool Runnings – has also qualified for 2026, ensuring this year’s games will have no shortage of underdog spirit.
