Macaulay Culkin returns as Kevin in new Christmas advert

Macaulay Culkin is back as Kevin McCallister, but this time the danger isn’t burglars — it’s everyday risks facing his aging mum.

In “Home But Not Alone”, a festive campaign from Home Instead, which provides in-home care for seniors, Kevin obsessively bubble-wraps his mum’s front yard and maps out a “safety plan.”

It’s a light but touching take on a familiar moment for many: when adult children start worrying about their parents’ wellbeing.

A nudge comes from a new character — the granddaughter of Old Man Marley — who gently suggests a better approach: just talk to her about getting help.

Created by FCB Chicago and directed by Jody Hill, the campaign uses nostalgia to spotlight a timely issue.

A subtle, well-judged way to start the conversation many families put off — and a reminder that care can begin with something as simple as asking.
