The world’s heaviest billboard just dropped in Dubai

GymNation is taking weightlifting seriously.

The UAE-based fitness chain has unveiled what it claims is the world’s heaviest permanent billboard: a one-tonne installation built entirely from forty interlocked weight plates.

Created to promote GymNation’s new Strongman class, the billboard leans into the absurdity of its own mass.

The copy? “The only billboard that needs a spotter.”

According to GymNation CMO Rory McEntee, a team of strongmen and strongwomen had to be brought in to install the thing. Health & Safety even got involved, cordoning off the area with perimeter tape in case of structural failure.

“Advertising in the UAE needed a lift, so we took that literally,” said McEntee. “Thankfully no hernias were reported during the installation.”

The class behind the stunt takes inspiration from The World’s Strongest Man and includes deadlifts, tyre flips, log presses and farmer’s walks.

It runs weekly at GymNation Mirdif, targeting the growing cohort of gym-goers looking for powerlifting-inspired group workouts.
