Heineken renames pubs ‘The Office’ to remind hybrid workers what they’re really missing

As companies double down on return-to-office mandates, Heineken is flipping the conversation – and the pub signs.
The brand’s latest UK campaign sees pubs across the country temporarily rebranded as “The Office,” turning a phrase most workers dread into a reason to grab a pint.
The activation riffs on a stat that feels all too relatable: 46% of hybrid workers say they’re missing out on casual catch-ups with colleagues. So Heineken is bringing back the best part of office culture – the post-4:59pm pint.
Anyone who signs up can claim a free beer (Heineken or 0.0) to share with up to three colleagues at over 1,000 pubs across England, while drinkers in Scotland and Wales can scan in-pub for a chance to win merch.
The brand has physically rebranded five pubs in London, Manchester, Liverpool, and Glasgow as “The Office,” giving city workers a tongue-in-cheek excuse to message: “Still at the office. Fancy joining?”
Beyond the cheeky signs this matters not just for culture, but for the economy. A new CEBR report pegs the 2025 economic value of after-work pub visits at £28.9 billion.
As Nabil Nasser, Global Head of Heineken, put it: “We might not miss the office, but we’ve missed those real, in-person laughs with our colleagues.”
