WI celebrates Jubilee with corgi treasure hunt

By on Tuesday, March 8, 2022

From June 3rd – 5th Brits around the country will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and the London Women’s Institute has chosen a unique and characteristically quaint way to contribute, by knitting and hiding replicas of the Queen’s favourite canine – corgis, around the city.

In the months leading up to the big bank holiday celebrations, the WI will be hiding these woollen pups in secret spots around London for the public to find and keep as mementos of the historic occasion. The pups are synonymous with the Queen and these knitted miniatures are all named WInnie, after the WI.

One very special corgi comes with a prize code that allows its lucky finder to celebrate the Jubilee like a Royal, mingling with VIPs at an exclusive Jubilee lunch on June 5th, so keep your eyes peeled for the pups if you fancy living like the Queen for the day.
