BBC Radio Four’s Woman’s Hour has brought together four women who’ve been abused and trolled online and recorded a spoof song to raise awareness of online abuse.
The programme brought together Charley Hough, Jackie Teale, Charlotte Proudman and Kelly McGurk with the advertising agency Mother and set them the challenge of helping women reclaim their identity online.
The result is ‘Save Our Trolls’ a satirical pop anthem which was broadcast on the show yesterday and had been released on YouTube.
The women bravely shared their stories – of death threats, rape threats and being a called a feminazi – with Emma Barnett on Woman’s Hour in a bid to see if anything could be done to reclaim their identities.
Charlotte Church, Miranda Hart and Andy Serkis all feature in the film.
